This week’s photo challenge is “Beneath Your Feet” giving me a perfect opportunity to tell a story.

In October 2014, I travelled to Berlin on my first holidays off from being an Assistante de Langue in France. I was really excited, my wanderlust was burning inside me after a great trip in Copenhagen. We decided to do the free walking tour around Berlin which was INCREDIBLE, and which I would highly recommend if you’re ever in Berlin. On the crisp autumn’s day, we went to a random car park surrounded by run-down looking buildings. Our tour guide took us over to a small grassy patch in the car park and explained to us why it’s so important…

Beneath my feet on the 30th of April 1945, Adolf Hitler committed suicide.
