And a big happy 2nd birthday to my blog.
I can’t believe it’s been a whole two years since I started this blog, but at the same time I can. The amount of stuff I have done and seen in the past two years is really unbelievable.
106 blog posts, 14 countries, 2 freshers helping weeks, 1 big love, countless new friends, and a crazy amount of memories.
I’m exceptionally lucky to have had the opportunity to do everything I’ve done and to still have almost all of my family members in a healthy way. I’ve met some amazing people along the way that I now can’t even imagine my life without (Hannah you know I’m talking about you) and my whole life view has switched.
When I started this blog, I had just moved abroad for the first time, to my second home, France. I was a worrier. I worried about everything, even if the chances of it happening were slim. A lot of my time in France was spent overthinking about what I wanted to do with my life, and freaking out about the future.
That mindset was still present over the year of university that followed my year abroad. I was still freaking out about what I wanted to do that summer and beyond. That’s when I decided to take the plunge to move to Bordeaux. I didn’t realise at the time how life changing the decision to pack a backpack, get a train to France and see where life took me would be.
My whole mindset has changed this summer in Bordeaux, which I’m so grateful for. I’m now looking forward to life after university, the world being my oyster and being able to travel and move to different countries at my will.
However, whilst I think that my small four months in Bordeaux has had the biggest impact on me over the past two years, that wouldn’t have happened had I not been to Aix-en-Provence a year earlier. It’s funny how everything you do, no matter how big or how small, leads you to something bigger.
Anyway, I just wanted to quickly check in and wish a happy birthday to meeee!
I’m going to be really busy this semester but in December I have lots of travel coming up (Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and UAE) so there’s lots of exciting things ahead.
À bientôt !
